The Lech Classic Festival
Founded in 2012 by music manager Marlies Wagner, the Lech Classic Festival has enjoyed remarkable success from its very inception. Over the years, it has secured a distinguished position within the international festival landscape. We look back with pride on more than a decade of musical excellence — and forward with confidence, ever guided by the vision of sharing the transformative power of music with as many people as possible.
At the heart of the festival are its gala concerts — a series of musical highlights shaped by an overarching artistic concept. The programming reflects both breadth and refinement: alongside major works from the Classical and Romantic periods and choral literature performed by the Festival Choir, we present rarely heard treasures — works that, for various reasons, seldom find their place in the traditional concert repertoire. Each year, our "Discoveries" series brings to light such hidden gems. The repertoire also embraces semi-staged opera performances, chosen for music so compelling that full scenic staging becomes optional.
The Lech Festival Orchestra — the festival’s musical nucleus — unites exceptional young professionals from leading orchestras throughout Central Europe. Their artistry, energy, and dedication form the festival’s vibrant heartbeat.
Our vocal and instrumental soloists, performing on the world’s great stages, find a home away from home in Lech during festival week. The setting fosters a rare closeness between artists and audience, creating an atmosphere of immediacy and shared inspiration.
